  • Heat metering plays an important role in smart heating systems for redevelop interventions. Heat meters allows the accounting of thermal energy consumption and in real time it is becoming very effective tool to promote energy savings and improve energy efficiency in an effective way.
  • Heat Meters measure consumption of energy by combining the volume flow rate of the fluid which is circulating inside the system with enthalpy difference between the outlet and the inlet section.
  • Since the pressure difference between outlet and the inlet section to be considered as negligible. To obtain the enthalpy difference, floe of return water temperature to know the thermophysical properties of the heat transfer fluid at different temperatures.
  • There are two topologies are available for heat metering are heat cost allocators and insertion time counters
  • Heat cost allocators is being used in heating and thermal plants provided with convectors and radiators , they are installed on each heating unit with TRV.
